You figure it'll probably cost you around $200 just to upgrade the macbooks ram from 2gb to 4gb...you might as well spend that extra $200 up front to get the macbook pro that comes stock with 4gb of ram amongst a ton of other goodies.

a serious battle between these two computers is way overdo. Obviously the macpro will probably beat out the "little mac", but by how much and at what price difference!
I can afford both computers and will buy one soon, but lean toward the little-mac. The pro isn't THAT much better.
Another quick point: The borders around the screens used to be way smaller on older mac's. And look at how small the boarder is on the 17 inch? I think its a marketing ploy to make the computers seem smaller
