What is the energy in this immense vessel of matter?
What are the stars that shine so bright?
Are they like the moon?
A bright light in the night sky?
Or, are they forgotten souls?
How many souls hide in the shadows?
How many souls walk on the moon?
To be in prison is to be on earth.
To be free is to float in zero point gravity.
Let us fly into the light of the moon.
And up into the darkness of the universe.
On our wings of soul dust.

  • This is one of my favourite poems of yours I have seen. It's written as well as all your others though the way it asks questions and the theme of stars is really nice.

Thanks, Phillip! I love to ask questions in my poems, so it's always nice to hear that kind of stuff is appreciated! Sometimes I think of these poems as my more simpler writes, they're more imagery than philosophical/mystical thoughts. Thanks for listening to the older poems. :)

  • Wow. See this is amazing. I think about things like this all of the time. I have always felt we trapped in illusion! I love the words of this poem!!!- Kevin

  • Yeah, it's like sometimes people are so concerned with their day to day lives here on Earth that we can forget the wonders of the universe and what lies beyond. Thanks for listening to the poem and giving insight. Much appreciated. :)

  • Yeah, and the way life is now a days you get to involved in working to survive instead of discovering yourself. Contemplating the universe lead me to discovering the mind. IF the universe is abundant and energy, would it be off to say that we are the same. Seems that thinking the opposite gets me what I don't want. I appreciate you spending the time to post your poems, they are great!!! -Kevin

  • Yeah, exactly. :) For instance, since I started college, I have hardly had time to post poems and haven't had any time to write new ones that deal with philosophy and physics. I plan to take philosophy next semester, so maybe something in class will inspire me to write another poem to share on here.

It was the same thing for me with the universe. Learning about physics made me start to think about the bigger things in life and how the universe is so big and the Earth is so small in comparison.

  • I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my poetry. Makes me feel like it was worthwhile to write and post them on here. :)
