  • Hilda doesn't careshe has a job making over $100,000 per year..lol, andthat is the main problem nobody seems tohave compassion for anyone. truth be told, the unemployment rate in America is hovering around 20 percent, but they don't want to freak people out.

  • it will hit double digets, because of the delay in people filling for unemployment and living off of their savings because they dont want the shame of walking into the office for help.

  • Well "Hilda"...Your "concern" and compassion is very moving. As Labor secretary, you are responsible for coming up with a strategy....What? "Vigilent"?! "Hope" is your stategy?

"...relief is being provided"? We don't want "relief, we want our money back, and JOBS. 8.9% unemployment, on it's way to double digits and your plan is "Hope"? As in I "Hope" someone can spare some "Change" for me.

  • Who wants to bet against me...I say it reaches double digits by Sept.

  • No Caveat emptor means buyer beware as I'm sure you know. It has nothing to do with fraud. Why do you keep asking rhetorical questions? People are pulling from their 401's because of the economic situation thats true but a "Run" I think not. Thankfully they have the 401's to pull from. The article you sent shows an investment that went bad, it happens, in a 401 or outside a 401. What do you do with your money, hide it in the woodshed? I think you need to be a bit more realistic my friend.

  • Does Caveat emptor apply in terms of fraud?

Just like there was a run on banks in the early 30's, now there has begun a run on 401k's - And in many cases, people are being refused their money!

  • I never said I didn't have a 401 I said "I don't depend my government for anything" Does that clear up why I care?

It's not the 401 that is not paying it's the investment that the person made within the 401, Big Difference. A 401 is just a vehicle for investments and Investments have RISK. Investments particular real estate funds are the riskiest. A mutual fund means you share mutual risk and mutual reward. The 401 is one of the best plans you can have for retirement. Caveat emptor.

  • There is in fact a run on 401's

But since you don't depend on your government for anything, why do you care?

The writer of the article is Eleanor Laise of the Wall Street Journal; May 5, 2009

"Given the current state of the fixed-income market, we felt it was prudent to put some well-defined withdrawal parameters in place," said State Street spokeswoman Arlene Roberts

I'll send the entire article to you via msg

  • What would make you think I'm afraid about my government not having my back? I don't depend on my government for anything.

What you are saying about 401's and IRA's is bullshit. You lie and you can't prove what your saying. Now unless you can prove it here, right now, go fuck yourself in your own matrix of lies.

  • snow

What's the matter? Afraid to consider that your government does not have your back?

I have the news article citation if you are willing to read it - That is why I gave instructions above how to obtain it for your own examination!

Good luck with your 401's and IRA's; while you are living in a matrix of delusion & wishful thinking the elites are racing to extract every crumb!
