Quite right. It was written for wind instruments and ought to be played only that way.

thank I didnt know that one. and im a huge Mozart fan since '95 when I heard his piano concerto no 23. I was in love with classical music ^_^ from that point on........

In fact, this is the arrangement. The wind octet (K388) is the original. Mozart made this arrangement for string quintet to fill out a set (K515, 516 and this work).
