See the Phase 1 video for a detailed information on the kart. We're still trying to determine the exact year this kart was made, do you know it? In this video you'll see the new upholstery, floor mat and rear bumper, all in an effort to get the kart back original. The "Clone" engine has had the governor removed, the carb rejetted and a custom header built/installed. The differential has been replaced with a live (straight) axle. The kart runs 40 mph (on GPS) with dad at the wheel and will do more once the boys get use to it. Phase 3 is a West Bend 820 that's being built at this time. When the boys say this combo is too slow, I'll install it and post a video. Hope you enjoyed this video and thanks for watching.

  • Great build buddy.. Im upgrading my self too.. I have that frame you may remember me with the mac 49.. Well Im getting a shifter kart frame and im putting my rm250 dirt bike motor on it.. And the go kart i have now (its a different frame early 70's rupp frame) I have a honda gx120 on it. Yea i know 4hp way to slow for me even though i have a 53 tooth on my axle. THe honda gx120 im getting race parts for right now i have a lawn-boy im going to sell to get the parts. when its done 15-20hp 17-19fpt

  • @gokartmaster123 so what's the status of your Dart/Mac kart? Did you ever get it going? Do me a favor sometime. Take some video of all of the frame, steering, steering wheel (is there a Dart medallion in the middle?), pedals, pedal linkage, front end parts, motor mount, rear axle, break, etc. In short everything. You don't have to make it too long, I'll pause it if I see something I want to study. I'm curious of how yours is made and want to see if I can figure out what year it is. Thanks!!!

  • @snaproll94e Well i didnt finish it and i started to strip it down.. Im going to most likely restore it and sell it for money cause moneys tight.. I will do a video of it today.. Actually i can tell you right now.. Its a 1958 rupp dart a bone kart.. There very rare and extremely expensive when restored.. you actually have the same frame as me.. But you just need to fix the bar in the back of yours to have it like mine..

  • @gokartmaster123 sorry to hear you didn't finish it but I understand your situation. You sound pretty sure it's a 1958, how do you know that? I was watching some of your old videos. checking out your Dart and the biggest difference I see is that you have some kind of linkage between the seat and engine, I'm guessing it's for dual throttles? I sincerely appreciate you filling me in. BTW, in the pictures you can see I've installed a repo rear bumper. Thanks, Snap

  • Beautiful vintage kart

  • @snaproll94e Its okay.. But the original owner bought it for his son and used it up until 1998 in massachusetts for racing.. It had a briggs 5 horse on it.. But it was seized up and the engines intake valve was stuck open and the cylinder was scored but the up was it was a ball bearing engine.. Anyway the linkage between my seat is for duel race engines.. Only problem is i dont have a second engine mount..
