Say goodbye to those expensive Aveeno baths. It is not necessary to spend your hard earned cash! Make your own with things you have in your home. If your child has chickenpox, this will help greatly. It also helps a lot (per a comment of a subscriber) with poison ivy!

Recipe:
1 c. rolled oats or instant oatmeal
1/2 c. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Blend until you have a powdery substance.

Instructions: Place a scoop until warm running bath water and enjoy your cookie-scented bath.

My comments: I loved the smell and did enjoy it, however, I couldn't get over the brown bath water.
Sorry, this was meant to be loaded at Christmas but...well,..yeah time gets away from me sometimes.

This recipe was provided in Woman's World Magazine.

Besides being an excellent winter skin remedy, oatmeal is fantastic for skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and sunburn; skin benefits also include the soothing of skin irritated by poison ivy, poison oak or bug bites.

One word of caution when you step into your oatmeal bath: it will make the tub and the water more slippery than usual, so be careful you don't slip and fall.

You'll love the silky smooth skin, free from irritation and itching, that a oatmeal bath will give you. You can use oatmeal baths up to two or three times a day, if you need to. It is safe on all types of skin, even baby bottoms.

  • @aohmann YEY! Let me know if you liked it. I did. I need to have another bath, but have so many Lush products that I have to decide what to use first!

  • @anmoose HAHAHAHAHA Go on, you know you wanna bath in cookie dough ;)

Actually it is quite good for you.

  • Oh come now! I patently refuse to bathe in cookies. I might throw in some chocolate chips and a little milk and bake it, though... LOL
