A ride across Lake Michigan aboard the Lake Express Car Ferry. It travels between Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Muskegon, Michigan. The trip takes about 2.5 hours to complete and they like you to arrive 45 minutes before departure.

  • Nice vid. I'll have to look into doing this someday, looks fun.

  • @Fotoez Thanks for the comment! It was my first time taking it and I think it was worth the expense. I enjoyed it enough to do it again

  • @BigBillChicago I can understand you not wanting to pull your video. It takes A LOT of TIME to produce these. With me, it's using my $90.00 digital camera to take clips, then uploading these to my computer, then "importing" them to MS Movie Maker, arranging the many "mini clips" in order , then saving it as an WMV file, then finally to Youtube. That take's me about 1-2 hours and that doesn't include the 20-35 minutes to "upload" the WMV file. Once you save it on MSMovie Maker, It's done.

  • @strobx1 Thanks for the comments and info. I was intending to do it again this fall when the leaves have changed. I was going to work my way North toward Traverse City and eventually go through the UP. I realized I'd made some mistakes in the description after doing the voice over but didn't want to take the video down and do it over. I'll get it straight on the next one.

  • @strobx1 Take Scenic Drive out of North Muskegon to Whitehall Mich. It goes right along side Lake Michigan. There is a "Block house" on a hill @ Muskegon State Part that gives you a view 200 feet above Lake MichigaN.

  • Nice Video. I live in Muskegon and the "Bay" is actually "Muskegon Lake" It is a deep water lake which has large freighters and Ocean going ships (called "Salties") delivering salt, sand, gravel or Coal to the Consumers Power Company Coal fired generating plant. The "river" you mention is the mouth of Muskegon Lake and is a natural channel maintained as "navigable waters" by the US Army Corps of engineers. Glad you liked the area. Next time you're on your bike take "Scenic Drive "
