I miss Esso too. Visitors to the U.S. from foreign countries sometimes don't realize that Esso and Exxon are one and the same.

@lolli6813 0.19 in 1969 is like 1.12 in 2010 even 0.19 in 1959 is 1.40. Nowhere close to 5-10 bucks

The last Esso I remember seeing in the United States was in 1973. Exxon and Chevron quickly replaced all Esso Stations by 1974-75..

@columbusmediatalk They used ESSO where they could get away with it. They couldn't in Ohio and all states where Chevron had the rights to the "Standard Oil" name... at least. Exxon, well it means... EXXON!

Ive got one of those plastic tiger heads on my garage wall....a friend of my Dads owned an Esso station at the time and he gave him one when they were removed from the top of the pumps
