  • Ummm... what? FedEx operates under nothing but IFR flight plans, they fly Class A airspace. They have to. They get stuck in holding patterns (the ovals you see north of the airport) when the storm cell (the red) moves in over the airport and they can't get around it anymore.

    Either that, or Memphis is one giant roach motel. I vote for roach motel. I don't see planes leaving. Furthermore, I really think Memphis is the 'crack house' of Tennessee. All of this is coming from a person who lived in Clarksville, Tennessee at one time.
