We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase almost 400 hectares (1,000 acres) of existing conifer woodland at Cwm Mynach within Snowdonia National Park. It is already a site of extraordinary wildlife abundance, with buzzards, ravens, owls and otters all already attracted to the valley.

Our vision is to protect these species and to attract new ones through the creation of native woodland and heathland wildlife habitats. This will be done by gradually replacing non-native species with oak, ash and hazel and flooding the woodland floor with natural light. This will help to restore the remaining fragments of ancient woodland and allow the carpets of bluebells and primroses to grow once more.

  • Exelente !

  • why not buy out the sole remaining farmer then you could have all the valley. hope you work in conjuction with him and not ride roughshod over him. most of the people in the valley are english second home owners. you should be helping the remaining locals, manage the woodlands in a reponsible manner.

  • Nice one Rory & Ray. Good luck witth the appeal.

  • Any other projects like this in the pipeline?

  • An ambitious but important project to restore the natural woodland here - good luck with your appeal !
