Il classico brano la cui enorme difficoltà di preparazione (quasi più che di esecuzione) non traspare se non avendo sott'occhio la partitura.
Affascinante ma ultimamente enigmatico.

Respighi is far too underappreciated, aside from his Roman trilogy.

I have to say, I'm almost as impressed with Respighi as much as Rachmaninov after hearing this piece. Respighi is right on the edge between impressionism and romantisism. Sure, I can't really keep up with all the layers, but I like how it delivers such depth with such shallow texture.
