To see the originating IP address in HotMail, right-click the Inbox message and select View Message Source

Alot of spammers reroute there spam. So the IP address you see is most likely not where it came from.

When the spammers reroute their spam they often use open-relays. Owners of the open-relays will usually close the ports if you let the owners know their servers are being used to send spam.

That's great, except... how do you get the original IP of the message on Outlook Express?

To see the originating IP address in Outlook Express, right-click the Inbox message, select PROPERTIES, then DETAILS (Message Source)

It need whole header, not part where the spam address is. The web service need all header. They need from start to finish. Remember, spammer can leave name address.

I did my many time and they did close down the spammer address.
