Heaven - a room full of chilled greyhounds!

We lost Mama-Dog (the brindle) last summer and still miss her. She was such a sweet ol' lady and the biggest female we've seen. 82lbs and almost 30" at the shoulder!

@JLGreyhounds thank you very much!

thank you so much, that has helped me a lot. Maybe it would be wise for us to wait the year or so and let her mature a little. i just don't want to be put in a situation where the dog would get stressed out from her loving on them and being so young not seeing the signs of that is enough from the dog. But when the time comes I think they would be a great dog. Your greyhound family is beautiful, thanks again

They are really lovely dogs!
how do you exercise them? I know greyhounds don't need lots of exercising since they're considered to be couch potatoes hehe, but still. i wonder, is it enough for them to spend 30 mins off leash in a medium sized yard or is it necessary for them to have a sprint?
I'm looking for a dog to keep indoors and i really like the greyhound overall, my only concern is exercise and house breaking because i can't take it on regular walks and i don't think i can take the dog out everytime it wants to go.

@yummiwatch They're very lazy dog, but they do love when they get to go out. We try to walk them often but when the weather is bad, freezing cold or blazing hot, it just doesn't happen. In my experience, the younger greys (3 years or less) seem to be much more active than 4+ years old.
Greyhounds are already kennel-trained so house training isn't too difficult. You just have to keep a close eye on them until they learn that your house is an extension of their kennel and not to make a mess.

wow when i saw all those greyhounds i thought maybe you were foster parents for them. But to know they are all yours! What a blessing. I am thinking highly of getting one, but I have a question if you don't mind me asking. I have a 5 year old daughter that wants to carry our cat around everywhere!! I just want to know their temperment with little kids that might I say are "LOVINGLY" rough. I might wait till she is a few years older, but they are a breed I like a lot Thank you

@mvmof2 I'm sure you'll have to contact your nearest group and see what restrictions/advice they have, but here's what I think.
Kids need to be taught to respect the dog's space. They'll often let you lay on them and prop your feet up on 'em like in the video; other times they get annoyed & want to be alone. Greys will be done playing before kids will.
Also, they're big dogs (I've seen anywhere from 55-97lbs). They're usually very gentle but when they get excited they could knock down a kid.

you have 4 greyhounds and THAT's the size couch you have? ;)

@xbriannaxbananax Haha, that's just a small couch in the den/computer room. We do have 2 others sofas... usually occupied by greyhounds.
