That is one intense video, and some great comments explaining a little more about the situation. I seriously just had to add this to my collection of the best Bahamas fishing videos: facebook [dot] com /pages/Xtreme-Bahamas-Fishing/
276144875779766 if you want to check it out. Cannot imagine how amazing it's got to be, getting so close to a 7 foot shark like that! Or having him get so close to you... :P -
Beautiful shark. I go scuba diving in Florida, but I haven't seen any sharks yet. I hope to see one soon. Nice vid.

The longfins of my buddy are simple cressi gara's, cheap plastic fins, not great performers. Mine were simple rubber swimming fins lent to me on location.

That is about 20-25m depth.
Hope you had a great time!
how much is it for a cheap underwater video camera?

A digital camera with underwater housing could be as low as $400USD I imagine. Mine was $600CAD for the camera a couple years back and $250CAD for the housing.

This is really cool. That was an awesome kill landing what looks to me to be a monster Bahamian Grouper. It was like watching a hawk pluck a field mouse.
If I had to guess (not having ever seen one except in pictures) I would guess you had a Carribean reef shark on your tail. He was definitely messing with you. I suspect he picked up on your kill.

Yes, it was a Bahamian Grouper, yummy at that! I had speared it once already before the shot you see in the video, but it had escaped into a hole bleeding like crazy attracting the sharks. We waited until the sharks gave up circling and then my buddy went in to try to find it. Lucky that just at that moment it tried to make a dash for deeper protection.

And yes, the shark was Carribean Reef Shark about 6.5-7 feet long. Even so it was quite the experience for my first time meeting a shark in tropical waters.
