Fashion show of Greek designer Daphne Valente, set at Technopolis - Athens in October 08, during the 8th Hellenic Fashion Week .
Searching the inspiration for her summer 09 collection, Daphne Valente is drawn to the East in an attempt to mentally escape the aftershock of the economic crisis hitting the West.
Cherishing fond memories from her last years trip to India, Daphne became aware that Indian women overcome the hardships of life, in a most dignified manner, wearing smiles on their faces and bright colours on their saris.
Therefore the designer, leaves her low profile expression aside and proposes bright colours for summer ΄09, armed with optimism. Shocking pink is the leading colour, influenced by Diana Vreeland, the legendary editor of American Vogue, who once said Pink is the navy blue of India.
Daphnes signature, her bouncing, sculptured pieces, enhanced with cleaner lines and Oriental sensuality, look fresh in pink, orange, white, grey and black and pass the message of positive energy and joy of living.
