...first I've seen of an overhead cable to
guide a glider from takeoff to landing; at
first glimpse, the terrain looked awful (for
free flight). An interesting and distinctive
way to acquaint learners with being above
ground with a glider without concerns about
takeoff technique, airspeed, landing setup,
bump turns, gusty winds, etc. Curious that
the rider/pilot didn't seem to check cara-
biner/hang strap for 'hook-in.'

OK You have my interest now. What exactly is going on here? The student doesn't have a helmet so I assume there is no chance of crashing. The glider seems to be going fast enough to control. Is this a regular school? Looks promising!

When the glider is about to hit the ground, it is stopped with brakes on the guiding cord. I'll post another video of the same experience but with the camera on the student.
