My Epiphone Flying V has had the following parts added:
Gibson 496R & 500T Pickups (With chrome covers)
CTS Pots
Sprague Orange Drop capacitors
Swithcraft Switch (with chrome toggle)
Switchcraft Jack
New 5 ply black / white pickguard made by me.

Please excuse the mistakes in playing! Was not having a good day! Also - I know the amp isn't really up loud enough so you hear the odd bit of string noise - sorry!

  • whas that a korina?

  • @OlleandOlofmusic Hi, no, it's not a Korina (I don't like those). Epiphone don't seem to make this type of Flying V at the moment, I think it's modelled on a '67 one but I can't remember.

  • i just got my epiphone flying v and i can't really hold it that well because the body weighs less than the neck and it slides down a lot. Do you get that problem as well or is it just me?

  • Yeah - I had that problem, I fixed it by moving the knob the strap attaches to from the end of the V to the back of the body - it helped a lot with the weight distribution - it's a real pain otherwise! Hope that helps!

  • thats a really nice flying v, but the only one i can find is the 58 korina. where did u get urs?

  • Thanks, I got mine from a guitar shop in London - can't remember which, but that was 10 years ago anyway! I'm not sure Epiphone make the '67 style one at the moment, they only do the Korina I think which I personally am not a fan of (but each to their own of course!). I'm sure you could pick up a used one off ebay or something.
