Is Gene Vincent the singer of the ORIGINAL version of this classic?

Love it when Gene is holding all the kats from going over the edge...Rock n Roll History..man that Kat was cool.

I was watching some rockumentary on TV with Marshall Crenshaw describing the Girl Cant Help It scene and the possesed guitar player who turned out to be Paul Peek as looking like someone who just killed somebody or was about to kill somebody. He was just into it!

@FecesHurlingMonkey1 they probably admired both guitar players, i really don't know much about Gallop,i just knew Paul,he later started singing country music, but he still would do some rocabilly,Paul had his own style, he was a really good guitar player and one of the nicest people i ever worked with.God bless you my friend.

@FecesHurlingMonkey1 if you ever watch the movie called The Girl Can't Help It staring Jayne Mansfield you will see Paul in the movie Gene Vincent kinda got mad because they showed Paul so much. he is the one with the blond curls hanging down.

@tommyandtammy1 . Thanks for the background info. I'm really into this band's influence and music. I just thought Gallop was the lead guitar and the one the Beatles admired, because George's earliest "real" guitar was the Duo Jet - same one Gallop used and I just assumed George was influenced by his style and contributions to the Blue Cap's music.

@FecesHurlingMonkey1 i don't really compare muscians because each one has his own style, but he was an outstanding guitar player,he was one of jeff beck and paul mcartneys heros, jeff beck sent him a guitar and an amp for his birthday, and paul sent him personal videos on his birthday.

@tommyandtammy1. Was he as good as Cliff Gallup ?
The red headed guitar player was Paul Peek.
Paul Peek passed away a few years ago. i played with him many times. . he was loved by the beatles the stones, jeff beck sent him a guitar and an amp on his 50th birthday, and paul mcartney sent him a video of paul wishing him a happy birthday.
here in atlanta at the hall of fame awards they have a paul peek award that is given out every year.he had no ego what so ever,he was just a great person to know, he even toured with Elvis.
God bless him

Long live rockabilly!
