Another Life- Chapter 2*** Nemi

Trig was fine. My insane teacher is from Brooklyn so she brawls with the kids.Yet again I had stares and whispers coming from everywhere.
Once trig was done I was walking to class when I heard someone singing. Following the sound I hit someone.
The blonde turned around to face me. "Hey, I'm Taylor." Her voice was as melodic as her singing.
I stuttered back into reality. "Oh, hi. I'm Demi. Was that you singing?" I sounded awe struck. Scratch that. I was awe struck.
"Yeah it was, do you sing?" She sounded proud, but at the same time, modest and sweet.
I managed to nod.
"Thats great! If you want, I could tell the music teacher here about you. Only if you want, of course!" I heard a sort-of coldness in her voice. I pondered that for a moment, trying to find the emotion that goes along with the coldness.... Then it hit me. It was envy. I could tell what it was anywhere. The coldness my mother had when she saw those happy families on TV. Cold as ice, and as hard as granite.
I tried to speak but it came out as a squeak. So I nodded again and she told me to go to the auditorium after school. You can guess what I did when she said that. I nodded and took off to my next class
My next class was American literature. The nick guy was in that class but he didnt sit next to me. Instead I was sitting next to a girl with brown I eyes and dark hair. hi im demi hi im selena the teacher assigned us a book to read and an essay to go with it. I liked literature just because I write. After class, selena and I walked down the street to get smoothies. When we got there, there was a big group of familiar kids sitting in a large booth at the far end of the shop. I recognized nick and Taylor. There was a girl sitting next to nick that he had his arm around. She had red hair and beautiful eyes. A massive wave of envy swept over me for no reason. I didnt get why. I dont even know him. I shook of the wave and sat down with selena at a small table in view of the group.
Taylor was cuddling up again a boy with golden eyes and messy hair. He was gorgeous but too old. Me and selena both ordered berry blast smoothies and sat down at a table across from the crowd. Selena is really cool. She loves the Beatles, she sings, acts, plays guitar, and she is in the after school class too.
We were talking about the musical across the universe, when someone shouted "demi!!"
I looked over to see nick calling me. he said "Why dont you and selena come sit with us?"
the girl next to him pursed her lips and said under her breath "why does he want her over here" she didnt seem to care if everyone could hear her.
"umm its ok we were just about to leave" selena took the hint and stood up
nick jumped over the booth and stood in between me and the exit "come on and sit with us"
I couldnt say no "umm ok, come on sel"
nick sat me down next to a very tall boy with hair pushed to the side. He looked bored. He smiled when I sat down" hi im jacob"
"demi" I was dazed by his smile.
Selena was talking to a boy with blonde hair and he was really cute too. He introduced everyone "hi im Jason dolly. This is Robert" he gestured to the one with taylor " miley" the girl who didnt seem to like me, "sterling, Taylor and jacob."
"hi" I smiled sheepishly and started to talk to Jacob. After 15 minutes we headed back to class and the rest of the day was pretty good. I already seemed to make friends then I again there was that one girl. Miley. Oh well, I shouldnt be worrying about that
After school I headed to the auditorium. When I walked in I was stunned by the beauty of the auditorium. Unique paintings were painted on every inch of the wall. The curtain was a deep velvety purple and lights were everywhere. There were booths that had balconys. It seemed like an auditorium at broadway. i didnt notice until I had stopped observing the amazing auditorium, that people were up on stage singing. One of the figures looked familiar. It was nick. He was playing guitar too. His voice was amazing. My surroundings went black and white and soon faded away. The only thing still colored and real was nick and music. His voice had so much range and the song he was singing was so beautiful. They finished and a roar of applause swept over the auditorium. Then everything came back to perspective.
There was a crowd of people sitting down. I spotted sel and she waved me over to sit next to her with a smile. Nick and the other two got off the stage. Miley ran up to nick and kissed him. He pulled away and whispered something in her ear low but quick. She pouted but pulled away and grabbed his hand. They sat down in front of us.
One of the two guys singing with nick turned to the other one and nick and said "whos the new girl??"
nick looked puzzled but then a huge grin broke upon his face and he turned around and said "hey demi, these are my brothers joe and Kevin"
