I would consider Ron Paul, but he refuses to drop his allegiance with the republican party.

And for that I could never trust him, his agenda does not fall in any of the republican talking points.

He would have 10x more impact as an Independent

Unfortunately, it is practically impossible to run as an independent. Some states even forbid a person from switching parties (or to independent status) after running in the primary for one party.

No, "Republican" and "Democrat" are obsolete words. When "Democrats" are pro-war and "Republicans" spend irresponsibly, all that matters is his message, and impeccable record.

I bumped into this December 16th thing yesterday and slapped down my donation without thinking twice.

And I'm changing my party affiliation to vote for Ron Paul to make it to the Presidential election.
