Hi Mary -Thank you for writing. My Dad died in 2001. We never expected mom to live much longer. I used to get wrapped up preparing to let her go. I've learned the only way to prepare for this is to enjoy and engage the life before me. I found it was my need to be in control which drove me to "prepare" for her death. Today I'm at peace with letting her go when the time comes. I've decided to not lose a moment focusing on her being gone when she is still here! Good luck

  • Thanks for the ideas. I'm going to bring my Mom's old photo album's to her assisted living tomorrow. I'm hoping it will bring her some pleasure and give her something to do.

    Thanks!
