小田原活魚番外篇 オオグソクムシ

これが　隠れた相模湾名物
節足動物門 甲殻綱 ワラジムシ目 スナホリムシ科
「オオグソクムシ」である。
（英名 Marine Isopod 学名 Bathynomus doederleinii ）
ちなみに「ダイオウグソクムシ」は、仲間の世界最大種。

世界中の深海にいる掃除屋だが、興味があって持ってきてもらった。
なかなか面白い動きをするし、結構イケメンだったりする。
最近は全国の水族館でもお馴染みになりつつある定番の珍生物だ。

噂に聞いていたとおり、口から出す濁った液体（胃の内容物？）は、かなりの悪臭を放った。
「海のダンゴムシ」とか、「海のゴキブリ」などの例えは聞くが、「海のカメムシ」と呼んでも決して言いすぎではない。それに餌を与えると貪るように齧り付く様は見ていて気­持ちの良いモノではない。まして後半に出現する「胎児持ちのグソクムシ」は、映画「エイリアン２」に出てくる「クイーン・エイリアン」そのものである。こいつらを見ている­と「タイノエ」や「カイワリノエ」がまだ可愛く思えるから不思議である。
もし、この生物に興味をお持ちの方は、直ちに小田原へ来てこの「グソクムシ」の臭いを嗅ぎに来て欲しい！今ならちょっとの時間とちょっとの勇気が有れば、だれでも「グソク­ムシ・マニア」になれる！！

It is necessary to lower the water temperature though breeding is possible in the home aquarium.

Will they bite? it eats the flesh off fishes right? wont it do the same if it manages to get in contact with someone's hands?

It seems not to have teeth in them. However, they have the mouth like the fang. They are always chewing, and seem to be looking for food. But they doesn't eat food from my hand.
