Liam Wood edl lgbt leader advertised a demo for 23rd July 2011 on facebook for edl to leaflet Manchester's Canal Street. He then cancelled at the last minute - these two edl members turned up, chanted edl rubbish then were promptly aprehended by the Police.

Can someone explain what happened here? These 2 characters were saying "Al Qaeda off our streets" and were apprehended by cops, names taken, and threatened with arrest for a word like "twat"and for walking where they wanted like they were children. They were actually rather childish - but that hardly warrants that kind of police response when the cops could be chasing villains. The street was empty - but the cops are saying "oooh this making people uncomfortable" etc.

They are quite right they do have the right to be idiots and they have the right to sink into the mire of their own shit as well. However it does not mean it is advisable. Once you are a member of the EDL or BNP any chance of future success in society is down the swanny. It is worse than a criminal record. Oh well
