Father God, I pause to remember the real reason of this Christmas season. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! You are the reason I live, the reason I celebrate, the reason I have peace. Thank You for your great love. Today I fix my eyes not on my To-Do list but on You, the author and finisher of my faith. You are the greatest gift I know. This season all I want for CHRISTmas is more of You. Your presence is my present. In Your glorious name I pray, Amen.
@texasoperastar actually the Bible never identifies the date of Christ's birth. However, you are correct in the statement that Christmas was a pagan celebration that was not actually on the 25th of December but on the Winter Solstice where the yule log was a part of the tradition and the every green tree was a symbol of long life.
Just to let you know, most people don't know this, Xmas was originally just as Christian as saying Christmas. The X is greek is pronouced "K" or "Cho" the first letter in Christos "Christ".
Awesome, texasoperastar, I agree.....There was a day.....A very special day! The Lamb of God was born (Word in Flesh). In a manger, right where the pascal lambs without spot or blemish was kept for sacrafice. To become EVERYONE'S Savior!
