Song 5
Trails of Glory by James Swearingen
Charlotte, NC
Approximately 84 students were selected for Honors Band from 19 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Middle Schools (CMS Middle Schools).
The students met for the first time on Friday, March 30, from 8 AM to 5 PM, and then again Saturday morning, 9 AM to 11:30 AM. They had one more rehearsal at 1:30 PM, and then played for the audience at 2:00 PM. The conductor is Scott Clowes of East Mecklenburg High School, Director of Bands.
The students played wonderfully together after such a brief practice period. They learned how to play five songs in a day and a half.

The time perioud they had to learn that is so short! But in my opinion, it was an easy piece. In the summer we have band camp and we only have 1 week to learn about 6 pieces, not too hard for the bass clarinet.
