  • @bigman1225 you're talking about Kina.

  • @M44resto Holy shit, you're a fucking genius.

  • @bigman1225 'Rome wasn't built in a day'

  • @bigman1225 Look up Lenny Kravitz's "Again." It may not be a female singer, but it may be what you're looking for... it's very close to the date too.

  • i still love this song :)

  • Ok, now that I've found this video, can anyone help me find this other song that was probably released around September of 2000? I remember the music video was the singer, who was a black female, sitting inside a cafe or restaurant and singing.

  • May 18, 2001 never gave up on finding this video until nov 16 2009 8yrs of searching and it still gives me a feeling of being human.

  • Some other suggestions if you like the "roots-tronica" feel of Shea: Rosey, Dana Glover, Shannon McNally and, of course, Maria McKee!!!

  • Sultry, swaggering, beautiful! This girl is amazing. How awful that she hasn't released anything else in the nine years after this incredible debut record!!!

I can listen to this album over and over. It's got such great texture--a wonderful amalgam of pop, rock, folk, electronica, country--and often all in the same song! What a stew!

If you like Shea, I highly recommend Res, who also has a genre bending album to adore: it's called "How I Do."

  • I concur with those saying it's part of their "Soundtrack of Life"; I first saw this on MTV2 and heard it online in 2001-ish and was HOOKED! The lyrics are one thing but that last musical bit that she speaks over, mmmmm, goosebumps! Thanks for posting, you made an almost 30 y/o feel 21 again!
