We have family from Roseto in the US too but most are here in Toronto and the GTA. These traditions are slowly disappearing it's true... always try to keep them going!

by the way, he was using goats milk? I do have a few goats so I have fresh goat's milk every day...funny, a city girl now living on a farm with goats and chickens...it is such fun...I do have a full time job though...I am going to try right now to make some mozerella...I found other videos showing how to make it, so I hope they are right in their directions or that I do it right...if it turns out good, I am going to next try to make some Feta cheese...does your Nonno make other cheeses too?

yes, I understand, it is a gift...I hope someone will carry that on for him...it is so important, younger generations would miss out on so much without the wonderful special occasion food when family comes together for celebrations/holidays...my Mama baked like that, and it always came out sooo wonderful! before I moved to the USA 10 yrs ago, I always lived in an Italian neighbourhood, I was so lucky...the food, music and culture has added so much enjoyment to my life...I miss that so much

I love this! I am not Italian (wish I was) but I grew up in a mostly Italian neighbourhood in the North End of Hamilton, then later in Stoney Creek...I can't tell you how much the Italian culture, food, music, etc, has added to my life...I want to learn how to make cheese like your Nonno did in the other video...he is an artist and that kind of talent should be preserved and carried on...thank you for sharing...grazi!

@sistyuglykmart - Grazie mille! I'm glad you liked the video. What a coincidence! I'm from Mississauga and I definitely know of the Italian community in Hamilton/Stoney Creek :) as you probably know there is also a big Italian community in Etobicoke/Toronto (that's where my Nonno lives now and where this video was shot)
A lot of people want to learn how to make the cheese but it's complicated because he doesn't use measurements and any specific ingredients... he has that special touch you know?
