Wasn't this the training program for the actual moon landings? The arcade version was difficult as the lever was heavily spring-loaded. This made it harder to achieve a steady descent; you could also add more coins if fuel ran low.

well, sense this was made in 1979 and the moon landings hapened a decade ealier years before atari ever did pong, I would have to say no.

This is a re-post. Vector graphics games always look dark unless I do something special to boost up the brightness on the graphics and not the background.

Have you ever pulled the MCdonalds landing?
I tryed it on mame with cheats and all and still, it never happened :) ! This game is AWESOME! The "zoom in" feature was way ahead of it`s time and vector graphics just look amazing with this sort of gameplay! Someone should make a vector game just for nostalgia reasons!
Thanks for posting!
Cheers!

Battlezone was awesome, and truly scary when the bad guys got behind you.

I really dug it- truly a game of strategy. Make a nice soft landing in a flat place before all your fuel is gone, just like Neil and the rest.

I thought this was the original training simulator from the '60s but released as an arcade game over a decade later. The most difficult setting, ie no friction or gravity, would have been accurate for a simulated lunar landing. It would also explain why this game looked basic even for 1979.

What about Star Castle? It was technically monocrome since all the designers did was stick a three colored tranparent section on the screen to make the shields of the base appear to be different colors (compared to Tempest and Gravitar, which were true multi-colored vector graphics games).
