Written and directed by Henry Selick, this is the pilot episode of what should have been a series. It uses live action, stop motion and cut-out animation.

Bob is a strange guy: kind of a loser in the ordinary (?) world, a slow loser, he becomes a hero in the lower dimensions.

The following episodes were scripted but never went into production. Tim Burton brought back to life The Nightmare Before Christmas project, and Selick was asked to direct it. And you should know what he did...

The short runs five minutes, but it is introduced (and followed) by some brief commentary by the director providing the informations I wrote in this post.
UPDATE: I've posted an MPEG-4 version with no commentaries to play it inline.

Soundtrack by The Residents.

You might be aware of it by now, but Henry Selick is working at Laika Studio on a feature lenght movie based on Neil Gaiman's Coraline.
