Stanford has a distributed library system instead of a centralized one - very weird. Math books are at the math dept, biology books are at the biology dept, etc.

  • Distributed? Centralized? Could you explain that in a format similar to Libraries for Dummies?

  • Math books are at the math dept, biology books are at the biology dept, etc. rather than all the books being in one building like I am used to.

  • is it distributed by department? meaning that the books in slac only have to do with slac and etc

  • Right. And math books are at the math dept, biology books are at the biology dept, etc.

  • It makes sense when you think about it. different libraries get different people and some have better studying environments than others. You don't want to be dealing with some ________(fill in blank) major talking on his cell do you?

Also, a person at the physics or math library will not need the humanities stuff on the other side of campus. If a person is looking for miscellaneous Material, stanford has a pretty decent main library. You just need to be less than 6 feet tall in some areas.

  • Seriously? Do you think anyone interested in your porn site is going to watch a video about a library!?!

  • why did you have to comment the info of the video like 4 times....

    heh

  • Red alert! Red alert! Slacker entering the library...

  • Yes, and rather a lot larger than your average computer, although, at least libraries have lavatories.

  • Same goes for the uni libraries ova here in teh town called Utrecht. We do have a very large general library though.

  • all libraries look kinda dated when compared to the internet

  • convenient yet inconvenien if thats possible
