Futarasan Chugushi Shrine

I really came to see the lake but there was almost no visibility because it was a cloudy day and up here in the mountains you are actually IN the clouds.

So we went to Futarasan Chugushi Shrine on the lake shore instead.

We found some stairs at the back of the complex and the French man started to climb them despite my I-only-got-3-hours-sleep-last-night-and -am-too-tired protests. That rapscallion climbed anyway so I trudged along behind. It was actually very nice up there. The flora of the forest was very Japanese. We stopped climbing when we reached another small shrine and the path ahead look less trodden, but we think the path goes all the way to the summit where there is another small shrine.
