Jean Michel Jarre was appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Tolerance and Youth in 1993. A pioneer and undisputed superstar of electro-accoustic music, his concert mega-events, combining high-tech sound with an extravagant laser and pyrotechnics show have attracted international audiences of over one million people. Using these international concert mega-events as a platform to raise public awareness of UNESCO's mission, he has repeatedly performed at UNESCO World Heritage sites, helping to promote the message of the importance of conservation to millions of people around the globe.

  • I can thanks one of my new friends I got here on Youtube, who burned this concert to me with all 16 songs on it for 1-2 years ago :) I love to hear Chronologie 6 again and again because I love this song, but to be honest with ya I like to listen to Chronologie 6 Live from JMJ's concert Europe In Concert Barcelona 1993 :)

  • @death2hiphopnRnB You're right. It's also a matter of adapting expectations. BTW, his current live show is totally incredible. I really want to go to one of the concerts, I think he really holds the key now to what his audience wants.

Besides, I never stopped rooting for Jean Michel. There is an aspect of insanity and scale to his work that I find incredibly inspiring. Every album he puts out, I'm praying for it to be another stroke of the genius I know he must be. :)

  • @progress2007 Agreed, but true to form Jarre manages to crank out a couple of masterpieces from the album - those being parts 4 and 6. The rest of it is instantly disposable, save maybe the opening part of 1.

  • accordion....;-] sweet ...is it Weltmeister?

  • I was there, on top of a roof next to the eiffel tower, great night.

I've seen him five times since and never stops to amaze me.
