I find it annoying that when Maynard is singing that Al Hirt does non stop noodling even after playing an intro and entire chorus. It adds nothing and he totally eclipses and steps on Herbie Hancock's beautiful comping.
Somewhere on youtube Toots Theilsman does the samething to Stevie Wonder and Stevie takes a wack at Toots with his elbow. Maynard was too kind.

What I will never understand is how you can have Ferguson, Hirt, Ron Carter and Herbie Hancock on the same stage and at least 50 idiots in the audience can't shut up so others can hear it. Why do these people attend these shows. can't they run their mouths at home for free?
