This song was recorded by many artists, but my favorite was Tommy Dorsey's rendition. This recording is done by Glen Gray's Band (I think), but is very similar to Tommy Dorsey's recording.

  • I don't know if I go back as far as you do....maybe farther? (lol)....but it also used to be the opening theme of Howard Miller's TV show in Chicago during the fifties. It's the opening bars that did it for me as a kid. Always got a kick out of that intro.

  • You go back about 51 years further than me, if we're talking age. Thanks for the comment.

  • パスク・アメリカーナの良心、若きシナトラを育てた、トミー・ドーシー楽団~彼らの十八番♪~♫On The Sunny Side Of The Street♬ #jazzm

  • Aside from it being Tommy's band, it features, I believe, the Clark Sisters. They apparently replaced the Pied Pipers when they left to go out on their own.

  • This is Tommy and his orchestra. My favorite version as well.

  • This recording's in stereo! Is this really Dorsey playing or his band? Tommy D. died in November 1956 in his sleep. Didn't know he recorded any stereo records! Incredible record! Sinatra adapted the arrangement (Heinie Beau in 1960--Billy May was credited on "Come Swing With Me")! Even Sinatra "borrowed"! Great record!

  • Sean!

  • I like Tommy Dorsey's version of "On The Sunny Side of The Street" better than the other artists I've heard so far

  • Sorry, deathray. I was actually referring to Thehoosier66 below. (lol) But, still, its nice that younger folks like yerself like this kind of music.Good for you!

  • I'm really going back, this used to be the theme song for the Al Russell show at a radio station in Fort Wayne, Ind. Anyone remember that?
