@MrPresidentToBe You're right my mistake. His name was Gabriel Estêvão Monjane he was 8 feet and 0.75 inches. He was featured as the tallest man in the world in Guiness Book of World Records 1988 edition. He was born in Manjacaze, Mozambique (thats in Africa) he died in 1990. That should clear everything up. :)

Anyway, insofar as anything about Wadlow or really, any of these giants, one has to wonder how they even managed to function having to be shoehorned into a society far too small for them; they certainly could not help their condition and stood to be gawked at and leered at and often just taken advantage of. I know a man who is very tall, he lives in Hoy, WV. I think he may be around 8 foot and he cant really leave his house. He doesnt even want the publicity, he wants to be left alone.

@powdermonkey31 FOURTEEN FEET TALL?? Are you cereal?? Come on, now...I believe there may have been someone who outmeasured Wadlow and it may well have even been one of the circus giants, their heights were always fudged so much we'd have no way to prove it. But 14'??? Impossible.
