Calves are abused at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo.

In 2009, unwilling to stop its abuses, Cheyenne instead banned video cameras.

On the bright side, in 2008 the Cheyenne Frontier Days committee promised to eliminate electric prods used on animals in chutes, and they stood by their promise. SHARK hopes that is a sign of more positive steps in the future.

  • I really don't get the use of jerk-downs. I went to a calf-roping competition in Alabama a few years back, and it was fun *and* no cruelty necessary. There were no jerk-downs, no injuries, no cattleprods, no abuse, and it was still a lot of fun. Shows what a difference competitors who actually care about their animals makes. So why would anyone feel the need for those things?

  • @MacDufferfish ""So why would anyone feel the need for those things?"" As the old saying goes: That's the 64 thousand dollar question.

  • I am confused. If i 'like;' the vid i would be supporting abuse to the calves. & the title as well. but if i dislike it doesnt it mean i dont support it. but i want to support them so yeah wat am i suppose to do. Cuz you indeed show that you support the banning of jerking calves as well... D:

  • @BlackVeilBrides2010 We don't pay attention to those confusing buttons, for the obvious reason you're stating. Your words are what matter.

  • ya'll get over yourselfs

  • I simply do not understand this. I have some very good 'cowboy' and 'cowgirl' friends who interrupt the transit of young cows (weaned, but not sure of the age) to the slaughterhouse. She uses them for cutting and roping. I have watched them rope. They gallop along side the cow, rope it, then remove the slack from the rope and tug the cow into a smaller and smaller circle. There is absolutely NO sense if destroying a young cow with those ridiculous jerkdowns.

  • i've been tie-down ropin for 10 years but never have i seen jerk downs. this is cruel i support ya'lls cause.

  • @SHARKonlineorg Okie thank :3 I just didnt know what to do!! =D But i hate seeing animal cruelty, :P

  • @lucky77cowgirl So your point is that it doesn't matter that animals are injured at rodeos?
