This excerpt from the upcoming documentary film, Heartland, features a letter written by eight-year-old Joplin native, Emma Jasperson. She and her family survived the May 22nd EF-5 tornado in the closet of their home. This footage was captured in the Spring of 2011 along with the interviews of 10 Joplin families. Their stories are coming in 2012.

So chilling. I have been in a tornado and it is truly terrifying. My heart goes out to little Emma and her family. What a brave little girl!
