Barney Franks comments aboiut Republican control of congress seems to ignore that the first 2 yerars of Obmama's presidentcy was with a dem control house nad senate and Pres. They could have worked and made real progress but Obma was still out on the golf course and having " beer garden summits"

The problem with so-called "free market" republicans is that they are not conservatives, they are libertarians with a "laissez-fare" market ideology that is really no different than a command market system owned by a privileged few (a kind of fascism) instead of the government. In such an arrangement tax payers would be responsible for protecting them and providing roads and such but would have no say in stopping pollution or whether goods were widely available and affordable, etc.
