@vaibanez17 Wilt wasn't even the tallest center in the league, there were some 6'10 guys playing center but there were also quite a few 7 footers and he was only 7'1. Hakeem is a beast though, one of the top 4 centers of all time. Probably the most complete one.
@vaibanez17 I agree, he played against the best big men in the league at the time. He was also one of the very few who have ever recorded a quadruple double. nuff said haha
Hakeem Olajuwon: The best center ever. Wilt was a great scorer but who was tall enough to guard him back then? Kareem was amazing but he certainly didn't have the guard-like skills that Hakeem possessed. Hakeem #1 in blocks, #1 in center-assists, #1 in center-steals. Great player who did it against some of the best centers in NBA history.
@sumskater999 Ah, the memories of growing up in L.A. in the '80s watching Lakers basketball. Moved to Houston in '95 and got to ride the Rockets wave.
Rhetorically, what happened to the sport? It just doesn't seem the same as it once was. Pulling "kids" out of college or even before? I dunno. *shrug* I do miss it.
@sumskater999 I'd put this Rockets team in the same category as those other teams. I'm not saying they are or aren't better than any of those teams, but they're in the same discussion, and I'd bet money they woulda beat a few of those teams in a game or in a series. The had a solid team at every position and were led by Hakeem.... The Dream
@Loudmouf84 I don't know if I'd say of ALL TIME but they were probably the second best team of the '90s after the Bulls. The reason I say this is because of teams like the '72 Lakers with West/Chamberlain, the '60s dynasty Celtics of Cousy/Russell, the '80s Celtics of Bird/McHale/Parish/Johnson, the '80s Lakers of Magic/Kareem/Worthy, the Spurs of Duncan/Parker/Robinson/Ginobili, or Lakers of Kobe/Shaq or Kobe/Gasol. And of course the Jordan/Pippen Bulls.

But what a great matchup that would be.

It was only fitting that this was the last field goal made. A perfect ending for a perfect finals series.

The 95 Rockets are one of the greatest TEAMS of all time. I'll forever wish we coulda seen this team matched up against the Bulls in the Finals

i remember this when i was a kid. i was so gutted the magic lost, and that 3 pointer, by Olajuwon of all people, was like rubbing salt into a wound.
