Super easy curry, using an S & B Japanese curry sauce. Footage was shot using a Canon PowerShot SD850IS. A digital camera whose video function is far better than still photos!)

Sirloin Steaks Golden Curry (RECIPE)

Meat and Seasoning:

1¾ -- 2 pounds sirloin steaks -- cut into 1 inch cubes
1 TBSP. coarse sea salt (use less if using regular table salt)
½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
½ tsp. monosodium glutamate or msg (optional)

Combine steaks and seasoning in a medium bowl. Allow the seasoned meat to sit at room temperature while you peel and cut the vegetables listed below.

Additional Ingredients:

3 TBSPs. vegetable oil
4 -- 6 garlic cloves -- smashed, peeled and chopped
1 large red or yellow onions -- diced
3.5 ounces package Golden Curry mix (mild, medium or hot)
2 large gold or baking potatoes
3 celery sticks -- peeled and chopped (about 2 cups)
3 medium carrots -- chopped
3 cups boiling filtered water
Adjust seasoning with the following:
2 tsps. beef granules
1 tsp. coarse sea salt
½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp. ground hot pepper (optional)

Heat a large stew pot and add oil. Sauté garlic and onions. Stir until onions are translucent. Stir in the steaks. Sauté and simmer for about 10 minutes.

Break the Golden Curry mix into chunks and add to the sautéed steaks. Stir, cover and simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes.

Add the potatoes, celery and carrots. Stir until all ingredients are coated with the curry sauce. Add the boiling water over the steaks and vegetable mixture. Bring mixture to a boil and then simmer for about 20 minutes or until vegetables are cooked. (Do not overcook the vegetables. Potatoes and carrots should be tender but still have their texture.)

Adjust taste with the seasoning above.

Serve warm over white rice.

Enjoy and Happy Cooking!

  • thank you for the upload.

i'm cooking curry at the moment(1st time). Bit different than your style.

    X-Files theme @the end ..hehehe

  • Umm... you should have stir fried all the vegetable first. Also, you have to boil all the igredients together with water prior to putting the curry into the mix....... It's always smart to follow instructions on the back of curry box.

  • thanks for the helpful tutorial! Can't wait to try and make it myself

  • @HarukaLove23 It does look good I must admit and I'm sure it taste good too but it's still a packet curry! The key to a real curry is fresh spices and ingredients, no?
