  • Choy Lay Fut's amazing! i'm a newcomer to that, only a month practicing it, but i love it. Have a good day, Sifu Parella =D

  • Thank you very much, sorry for taking a long time to respond

  • The similarities of this style and Wing Chun are amazing. Good stuff!

  • All Kung-Fu is related. You'll see similarities in all of them.

  • I liked that a lot...cool...I would definitely love to see more!

  • im a wing chun practitioner and ive thought about getting into choy lee fut, it seems alot more like an expressive version of wing chun. Dont know where to start thought

  • YOU SHOW ME A FIGHT IN THE STREET WHERE SOMEONE JABS LIKE A BOXER AND I WILL GIVE YOU 5 BUCKS PEOPLE IN STREET FIGHTS DO NOT JAB THEY TRY TO TAKE YOUR HEAD OFF.

SO WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS TALK ABOUT HOW A BOXER WOULD PUNCH. IF YOU ARE INSIDE THE WAY HE WAS THEN YOU CAN SIDE STEP THE PUNCH AND COUNTER

  • I'd like to see how this style would handle an attacker throwing rapid aggressive punches at you. This is how most real attackers will come at you. Most traditional MA style demos I've seen usually show an attacker throwing one clean punch at a time. I've come to the conclusion that the best ways to deal with real life punches and strikes is to either use the crazy monkey style elbow blocks, the clinch or boxing slips.

  • a c.o.p. would grab a person like that.

  • I hope that's tarm sarms picture :D

  • I'm not sure that technique against the jab will work. Especially against someone who knows how to box. They'll be pulling their jab back way before you can execute those moves.

  • @monji112000 ive just strated wing chun, but im planning to do this as well when i get good enough that my technique wont suffer if i drop from 2 lessons a week to one.

mostly because i have a muai tai mate, and its meant to be a good style to counter it

  • Ah, I see - thanks for letting me know! After having been in China for nearly a month last year, I now understand that there are various dialects and accents (as with most other countries) and therefore these pronunciations are therefore as you say, likely to be from another dialect.

    Thanks again!

  • @HeavensAMountain

i'm not sure about sifu Parrella fluency in the language.

however i know that CLF comes from hoi ping/toi shan area... that area has a very unique dialect. i have trouble understanding my sifu when he speaks toi shan because of the dialect/accent.

    cheers!
