Here we go then - the vid with a spin in it!

Spin speed is 720rpm.

Have to say that, of all the machines we have tested on this floor, the 3236H was by far the best at balancing and not jumping around.

4 loads of washing were done, one after the other, in this machine and every load it handled with no fuss whatsoever.

A superb machine.

  • Can anybody here shed any light on "new pol" or "newpol" machines? Were they a brand by other companies - i.e. like Electra was the electricity boards own brand?

  • @davey102001 ... hi there. Can shed some light on 'New Pol' machines for you. Your analogy using Electra is the right one, for New Pol was the home brand of Comet Warehouses, with Carlton being the home brand of Currys.

New Pol machines tended to be basic and I have some adverts for the early to mid 70's NewPol offering, in the form of the Extra Dry 75. Cant pinpoint whose machines they actually were, but I would say that they were either Spanish or Italian.

    Hope this helps a bit.

  • My god I bet that old thing made a racket when it got to spin????

  • Not too bad at all. No worse than any other Hoover 800 twenty years its junior. Behaves very well for its age.

  • i loved the A3060 best one ever built and the glow of the orange light, it looked very modern for a washing machine, sadley the programmer died in the end was going too fast not heating right!! and the three buttons for spin speeds ect i miss it loads but id give a arm and a leg to see it running its my birthday soon too lol

  • next time i am across at my mates place, I will make a vid and ask his permission to post it.

its a lovely machine he has and last year broke through its 30th birthday.

  • @matchbox3236h Hi there - thanks for the information - I would love to see the adverts you have got - are they online somewhere? Thanks. David

  • I've got the manual for this machine - found it in my mum's things from 1972. It was the first automatic she bought when he had me !!!

  • Do me a favour, upload a full wash cycle when you get the time, thanks :).

  • HI there. Yep it is, but afraid I cant do an A3060 vid, as the machine belongs to a mate of mine. I do have another mate though, who is the proud owner of an immaculate A3060. Will see if he will do a vid of his machine - its a stunner!
