@AndyBBB16 i agree totally. What happened to Rallying? used to look forward to the RAC for months beforehand. Now i can hardly be bothered to see how much Loeb won by.(no disrespect to him.)what used to be a sport for the people has been replaced by a business. We should, i suppose,be grateful that we saw it at it's peak.

@keepspaminatin I went for years, taking a few car fulls of people, sleeping out on the stages, having a laugh, following on from my brother who did the same for years before me. I wouldn't dream of going these days. Last time I went to WRC it was Ireland, spectator pens, no atmosphere, couldn't get close to the action. Product of the health & safety obsessed world. Utter rubbish. Roger Albert Clark rally for me these days, a fantastic event. Head to the hills, stand where you want, love it

cont'd..I think it was a few quid to park as opposed to £90 weekend pass you now need for the joke of an event that is Wales Rally GB. Like everything else, the spectators built this event into the success that it was, and as soon as it was worth enough, the rights were sold off and the event leased back to the public. Disgusting. Thanks very much for posting this. Excellent.

Fantastic. Can't remember if this was a Saturday or a Sunday stage but I was there and really takes me back to an era when this event was a real pre-Christmas high point in the year. Top Gear rally reports every night and the Propaganda theme tune. Thanks.
