I love hydrogen. It's a great fuel because it burns cleanly, but it takes a lot of energy to make it.
Wind and sun and even coal and oil are just sitting around waiting to be used. We can use solar panels or wind turbines to produce hydrogen from water and then use it to fuel hydrogen cars. Cars running on hydrogen would do a great deal to reduce the smog in places like L.A. and Mexico City.

all you have to do is put an alternator.. or more then one. And theres your power :) but i havent tried that yet

But hydrogen is a battery for storing energy, not an energy -source-.
Because it takes energy to extract the hydrogen from the H2O.

"Alternative energy" is a name that appeals to liberals and progressives. We should also have some name for it that conservatives and Republicans can use.
Anti-terrorist energy sources.

Well I'm even more disappointed.
They didn't mention anything particularly realistic.
Was hoping for some Solar Thermal Turbines with heat storage, Stirling Engine Solar, or Hot Rock Geothermal.
Would get some mention.
Or hell, maybe some adiabatic compressed air energy storage.
Instead all you get is this gimmicky bullshit.
