On October 4th, 2006, Panthers announced a 'Team of Legends' - 17 players chosen as the all time best in 40 years of competition in the top grade of Rugby League. The team was chosen by a committee of experts and announced at a gala evening in Panthers Pavilion. This video shows the nominees and includes brief histories on the selected 17.

tell you what, how many 1st grade NRL coaches are in that line up??
Freddy (ex) Hoss, Tim, Simmo... when will Brandy 'snap' and take over from that useless Elliot.

They chose well. Best three players in my opinion:
1 - Greg Alexander - What a legend.
2 - John Cartwright - he was the best second rower going round in the late 80s, early 90s.
3 - Brad Fittler - just damn great.
I would have left Gower out and put maybe Steve Carter on the bench.
My favourite Penrith memory is while living in Canberra I saw the Panthers smash the Raiders in Canberra (either 90 or 91) and saw Brad Izzard absolutely smash John 'Chicka' Ferguson. The whole crowd moaned.

I played 4 Emu, i think it was the 15's or 16's when Vandy played for us
