One issue touched upon at Sun Valley was the massive amount of private data Google accumulates. While most people wouldn't want their search history or email to somehow become public, Google Co-founder Larry Page argued that the concrete benefits of using the data privately, such as Google Flu Trends, outweighed the potential dangers.
