Timelapse video of our Stonemill Log Home construction in Southern Oregon (just the log portion, compared to my other video which also has the foundation, blockwork, etc.)

The logs are hemlock from British Columbia. Shipped from BC to Tennessee to Stonemill, precision cut and then hand hewn on the sides with an adze. Then shipped back to Oregon on semi trucks. Actually, cheaper than the local log home place. Each log is 6" thick x 12" tall. Each true log wall is engineered to settle up to 2 inches. The posts on the wrap around porch and the interior posts have load jacks for adjustment as the house settles. The window and door rough framing uses a sliding bolt system. We are very happy so far and have lived in the house since Jan 2011.

  • From foggy, sunny to rainy day, the construction goes on no matter what the weather conditions may be.
