Building on the success of Mohammed Ali's Writing On The Wall performance at The REP theatre, Mohammed Ali brings Breaking Down The Wall on November 19th 2010, at The Herbert Gallery Coventry.
Another unique performance of live painting and spoken-word, with aerosol artist Mohammed Ali in collaboration with renowned UK spoken-word artists, David J, Indigo Williams and ZK The Poet.
Weaving together spoken-word with spray-painted words in front of a live audience. Mohammed has been pioneering a unique amalgamation of different mediums and art forms, delivering them at auditoriums and public spaces across the UK, and now here to the city of Coventry.
Exactly 70 years ago, right where the gallery stands, the Germans bombed out the city of Coventry. The Cathedral still stands with no roof, and is a stark reminder of the reality of war. So this performance focussing on the reality of war, and drawing parallels to the struggles from the Coventry Blitz with modern-day situations such as Palestine, seemed appropriate and very timely.
This is seems like a wonderful intro-video on Muhammed's work. Such a powerful combination of Poetry and Art. Mother is from New York the street art has been evolving world wide so I can feel this. I like how things are looking for the Muslim Artist! May Allah grant us all strength.
