I think I have a female version of this fish.. perhaps even bigger than this one... do the females have a pink face and bluey/pinkish speckles on their top?

Excellent fish aquamojo :) My females extremely similar, mines at about 14" just not as thick. If you fancy a view chek it out on my video section :) cheers

@aTrueAfrican True that. I just used the overhead lights for the video. Flash units make a big difference.

If the fish you have is bigger than this one...I doubt it's female. This fish is 14" long. Typically the female of the species is much smaller. Lots of Paratheraps can have that spangling. Could be Fenestratus or Melanurus. If you want to email me a photo I will see if I can identify it. mojo@epix.net

I use a 3mil industrial garbage bag. I could do it with a large net, but with the bag it doesn't damage the fins.
