You don't need a top-of-the-line CPU. You just need the I series I believe and you can have fsx running smoothly.

when i run this sceneru with my 5670 it has like 8-10 FPS still with i7-860@2.8 ghz with 4 gigs of ram...will it fix if i have 8 gb ram??

I installed the demo, cranked everything max at 1920x1080, it ran at about 10 fps, and the graphics were ugly as shit! Well, no thanks: i'll play Mafia II instead, maxed out over 60 fps.

Im going to buy a comp with the i7-860, ATI 5850 and 16 gigs of ram. will that run FSX at max graphics?

@olli9471 The Phenom II X4 955 has less performance in FSX then the other AMD quads(no idea why) even when overclocked. Your 5850 is probably trying to not have the game lag but your cpu is gonna have a limitation. The AMD Phenom II X4 965, the 955's big brother, however seems to perform in FSX just as well if not better then some I7 rigs I have seen. What are your graphics settings in FSX?

@olli9471 unfortunatly the AMD Phenom II x4 955 has les performance then other AMD processors. Its big brother, the Phenom II x4 965 however performers FSX in my opinion just as good if not better then some I7 systems. Also whats your video card? replacing that might greatly increase your FPS and mostly solve your problem.
